Each year between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve, PrimaProductions LLC partners with a regional, national or global non-profit organization that advocates for individuality and dignity in women and empowers them to gain skills and confidence to lead happy and productive lives. This year we chose to recognize homelessness. Although their services are provided to anyone in need, DIGNITY FOR DIVAS focuses primarily on women, as they tend to be particularly vulnerable to the physical, mental and emotional hardships of homelessness.

ADDRESSING THE HOMELESSNESS CRISIS THROUGH THE LENS OF SELF-CARE

DIGNITY FOR DIVAS believes self-care is the first step on the road to stability and self-sufficiency. By providing essential care packages* to women experiencing homelessness, the organization helps them restore their dignity, reminds them that they matter, and reconnects them with their inner Diva. This puts them in a better position, both emotionally and mentally, to successfully transition out of homelessness.

DIGNITY FOR DIVAS provides ongoing support throughout this journey. In addition to providing essential care packages to women who are homeless, in emergency shelters and living in encampments, they deliver home essential kits to women who have recently secured housing and offer several classes and workshops in computer job training, financial literacy, goal setting, health and wellness and beauty. DIGNITY FOR DIVAS weaves the message of self-care into all its programming, thereby taking a personal and holistic approach to fighting homelessness.

*Diva Survival Kits consist of basic supplies to manage hygiene, help women feel clean and regain a sense of dignity.

ZipHer is a product used worldwide by independent women who share in the frustration of zipping up hard-to-reach back zippers. From female politicians to high school girls, from Olympic athletes to the injured or dexterously challenged, from transwomen to women in the military “Zip me up” is a universal call.
